Long Islanders Voted Huntington Fire Department in Huntington Village Best Fire House on Long Island!
Everyone on Long Island thinks that their local fire department is the best. But there can be only one Best Fire House. Sure, if you report a fire, no matter where you are, firefighters will come to the rescue—these guys and gals just do it better. We bring you this year’s winners for Best Fire House on Long Island.
1. Huntington Fire Department

When Chief Brian Riggs was asked why the Huntington Fire Department was voted Best Fire House two years running, his reply was, “Because we’re that good!” Huntington FD is one of the oldest departments on Long Island, dating back to 1843. The more than 100 active members answer an average of 600 calls per year and Chief Riggs says proudly, “We provide good service to the community. Even in these difficult times we have been keeping a good active group of volunteers.”
